How to extend the service life of power supply parts of CNC plasma cutting machine

First, use a reasonable cut distance

According to the requirements of the instruction manual, a reasonable cutting distance is adopted. The cutting distance is the distance between the cutting nozzle and the surface of the workpiece. When piercing, try to use twice the normal cutting distance or the maximum height that can be transmitted by the plasma arc.

Second, to ensure the correct pressure and flow of plasma

The correct air pressure and flow of the plasma is very important to the life of the consumable. If the air pressure is too high, the life of the electrode will be greatly reduced; if the air pressure is too low, the life of the nozzle will be affected.

Third, the cutting should start from the edge

Cut as much as possible from the edge, not piercing and cutting. Using the edge as a starting point will extend the life of the consumable. The correct way is to align the nozzle directly to the edge of the workpiece before starting the plasma arc.

Fourth, the nozzle should not be overloaded

Overloading the nozzle (ie, exceeding the operating current of the nozzle) will cause the nozzle to be damaged quickly.

Fifth. Using softened water to inject the torch

Hard water can cause metal impurities to deposit on the nozzle ring, which affects airflow, reduces torch quality and shortens consumable life.

Sixth. Checking Airflow and Cooling Flow Dailyly One of the most common causes of torch damage is the lack of cooling flow. Frequent inspection of the torch's airflow and air pressure (if air cooled) or coolant (if water cooled) is found. Or when it leaks, stop it immediately and troubleshoot it.

Seven. Ensure that the correct pressure of the plasma and the flow of the plasma The correct pressure and flow are very important to the service life of the consumables. If the air pressure is too high, the life of the electrode will be greatly reduced; if the air pressure is too low, the life of the nozzle will be affected.
